RADIOLOGY

Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease. Radiology may be divided into two different areas, diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology.

At Tara and Tiara Medical Systems our Radiology Department strives to provide exceptional service by delivering state of the art radiology equipment throughout delivery, installation and maintenance in a compassionate, personalized, efficient and value-based manner, that is grounded by expertise and experience with the latest radiotherapeutic principles and practices.

Tara and Tiara Medical Systems has a large and diverse product portfolio of medical imaging equipment. This includes new, used and reconditioned diagnostic medical imaging systems.

We are partnered with many of the industry’s top imaging manufacturers to provide technical service, reconditioning, sales and leasing programs for most medical imaging systems.

Partnerships with manufacturers such as GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips (and many others) allow our staff to properly identify the correct imaging systems to fit our customer’s needs and requirements. This means that we will consult directly with your staff to provide the most effective imaging solutions for your particular situation.

Our goal is to get it right the first time! Our sales staff and service engineers are ready 24/7 to fulfill all of your medical radiology / imaging system’s needs.

THE MODALITIES OF RADIOLOGY

CT Scan
A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do.

Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continuous X-ray image on a monitor, much like an X-ray movie. During a fluoroscopy procedure, an X-ray beam is passed through the body.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging technology that produces three dimensional detailed anatomical images. It is often used for disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring. It is based on sophisticated technology that excites and detects the change in the direction of the rotational axis of protons found in the water that makes up living tissues.

Mammography
Mammography (also called mastography) is the process of using low-energy X-rays (usually around 30 kVp) to examine the human breast for diagnosis and screening. The goal of mammography is the early detection of breast cancer, typically through detection of characteristic masses or microcalcifications.

Ultrasound
An ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to create a picture (also known as a sonogram) of organs, tissues, and other structures inside the body. Unlike x-rays, ultrasounds don’t use any radiation.

Bone Densitometry
A bone density test is used to measure bone mineral content and density. It may be done using X-rays, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA or DXA), or a special CT scan that uses computer software to determine bone density of the hip or spine. For various reasons, the DEXA scan is considered the “gold standard” or most accurate test.
This measurement tells the healthcare provider whether there is decreased bone mass. This is a condition in which bones are more brittle and prone to break or fracture easily.
